Biography
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Alex began his studies on trumpet at age 11, studying under Douglas Lindsay and Steven Pride of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He has also received private instruction from various world-renowned artists including Tom Hooten of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Ron Romm of Canadian Brass, John Rommel of Indiana University, and Vince DiMartino. Alex's studies have been primarily focused on orchestral and solo repertoire.
Alex was a member of the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, with which he has performed in concert at Carnegie Hall as well as at Cincinnati Music Hall with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra in multiple joint concerts. In 2017, Alex attended the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute in Denver, Colorado. His college years have been spent playing as co-principal trumpet of both the Miami University Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. He has performed as principal trumpet of the Cincinnati Philharmonic Orchestra and was one of five trumpets selected to attend Brevard Music Center's 2020 summer festival.
More recently, Alex has established himself as a performer on TikTok, amassing tens of millions of views and a following of more than 300,000 people.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from Miami University and will be studying for his Masters under Joe Burgstaller at Arizona State University starting in the fall of 2021.
