Trumpet Lessons and Freelance

Alex Brown

Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Alex began his studies on trumpet at age 11, studying under Douglas Lindsay and Steven Pride of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. He has also received private instruction from various world-renowned artists including Tom Hooten of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Ronald Romm of the Canadian Brass, John Rommel of Indiana University, and Vince DiMartino. Alex's studies have been primarily focused on traditional orchestral repertoire.

In 2017, Alex attended the Rafael Mendez Brass Institute in Denver, Colorado. His college years have been spent playing as co-principal trumpet of both the Miami University Wind Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra. He has recently performed as principal trumpet of the Cincinnati Philharmonic Orchestra and plays second solo cornet in the Fillmore Philharmonic Brass Band.

Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Performance from Miami University and currently plans to continue his education in the fall of 2020. Alex is a general brass teacher at the Sharp School of Music in West Chester, Ohio.

Alex will also be attending Brevard Music Center's orchestral studies program this summer.
